About The Film

A wealthy man is holed up in a penthouse high above the Las Vegas strip when…he meets a mysterious woman. The two embark on an emotional and intellectual roller coaster that asks us to consider much more than just sex high above the glitter of neon lights. What is the true nature of power, and those who seek it? What are the bounds of capitalism, and what is justice for those who desire it? The Last Days of Capitalism is a love story, a mystery, and a thriller all rolled into one.

About The Creators

The Last Days of Capitalism marks the feature directorial debut of writer/director Adam Mervis, the screenwriter of the recently released studio film 21 Bridges starring Chadwick Boseman. While 21 Bridges is a big action film, LDC is a different film altogether--an intimate, intelligent, two-character relationship drama set over a 72 hour period in a Las Vegas penthouse. It stars Mike Faiola (MTV’s Awkward) and Sarah Harper, and was produced by Mark Stolaroff and Kenny Harrison. The cinematographer was Bethany Michalski, the editor was David Au, and the composer was Alexander Burke.

- Video Librarian

“The film delivers. Viewers may debate who profits from whom and whether capitalism is the victim but that ambiguity is one of the film’s strengths.”
- Loren King

"Adam Mervis’ smart subversion of the ‘whiny rich’ man. Huge props to Sarah Rose Harper and Mike Faiola who keep things engaging as a breezy romance where we get to see more complex ends of these two people.”
